Ukrainian-German classical pianist and chamber musician
Veronika Voloshyna was born in Alchevsk, in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, where she received her first piano lessons from her mother at the age of 4. In 2006 she moved to Kyiv to pursue her studies in the Lysenko Specialized Music School with Docent Iryna Barinova-Moreva, Alexandra Martsynchyk and Docent Sergei Riabov. At the age of 16 she entered the classes of Sergei Riabov and Honored Artist of Ukraine Gennadiy Demyanchuk in the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Music Academy in Kyiv. Since 2018 she has attended the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar in the class of Grigory Gruzman, and in 2021 she also studied with Imre Rohmann at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, within the framework of “Erasmus+”. Ms. Voloshyna is currently based in Weimar, where she finished her Konzertexamen post-graduate studies under the guidance of Michail Lifits and Grigory Gruzman.
Ms. Voloshyna has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe. She has appeared in concerts, festivals and competitions in Portugal, Italy, Serbia, Georgia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Turkey. As a soloist, she has performed with the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra and the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra among others. Ms. Voloshyna is the II. prize winner of the I. Radovljica International Piano Competition in Slovenia. Her competition awards include II. prize of the International Competition for Young Pianists in Georgia, I. prize at the London Classical Music Competition, I. prize of the Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition and III. prize at the 6th International Competition for Young Pianists in Sergei Prokofiev`s Native Land.
She presented herself at various master classes and lessons by well-known artists such as Milana Chernyavska, Balázs Szokolay, Nataliya Trull, Ruben Dalibaltayan, Philippe Giusiano, Tim Owens, Elzbieta Stefanska and Jean Rondo.
She is a scholarship holder of the Colluvio Chamber Music Academy and International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. Since 2020 she has been awarded the scholarship of the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation. Ms. Voloshyna holds a position as a secondary piano teacher and a collaborative pianist of the wind instrument class at the Music Gymnasium Schloss Belvedere in Weimar / Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar.
